To Westerners they're known as Cowboys. In the savannah lands of Guyana they're known as Vaqueros !
Ever fancied working on a real cattle ranch, just as the ranchers did hundreds of years ago? Well here's your chance!
Hard core ranch adventure and fun or those happy to get real dirty, work real hard and get up with the birds and ant-eaters to do it all over again. The ranches of the Rupununi operate much as they did hundreds of years ago, which means plenty of manpower, but plenty fun too. Come test your Rawhide!!
The landscape is amazing, huge vistas span the savannah to join up the distant jungle clad mountains. The work can be hard, dirty and gritty but at the end of the day there's always amazing creeks to bathe and mess around in!
Throughout there will be a Bushmasters staff member with you as well as the ranch owners and several vaqueros (cowboys) who will teach you the tricks of the ranchers trade!
This 10 day trip really does take you back in time, where the days are long, the work hard, the camaraderie amazing and the stories only a little taller than the truth. Come be a vaquero on the southern savannah ranches!

No previous riding experience is needed. You'll spend no more than about 2 hours a day in the saddle, mainly walking - though there may be the odd trot and canter after the herds!
